Our name represents both our build and design, plus storefront business. We specialize in full home remodeling, additions, specific space redesign and remodelling of your kitchen, dining room, basement, living room, patio and any part of your home you wish to reimagine. We proudly serve West Dundee, Crystal Lake, Algonquin, Barrington, South Elgin, Huntley and neighboring and surrounding communities in the Fox Valley/Chicagoland areas under the RDP Builders name. In 2016, we opened our Boxwood Home Design & Kitchen Cabinetry showroom and have adopted the Boxwood name for our collective business.

OUR STORY
What began as drastic drop in work for Rod in 2010, became the beginning of our business. In 2010, construction ground to a halt in Northern Illinois. On the same year, we took a leap of faith and started our business. We believed that doing so in an economic downturn was better than working for someone else who could lay us off without notice. Beginning with small projects, our hard work, skills, and belief in our talent, slowly paid off. In 2016, we took another risk based on what we know makes sense—enhance our services by controlling the details that make up the larger work. We rented a showroom in West Dundee, IL, offering three cabinet lines and providing for every home remodeling budget. This is now our Boxwood store front. Today, Boxwood Home Design & Kitchen Cabinetry (formerly RDP Builders), is a multi-million dollar design-build firm that is powered not just by our complementary skills, but more so the trust we earned from our clients over the years, and our continued belief in each other.

Lauren Perrine
Lead Designer & Owner
Lauren has been a designer most of her life, beginning her professional career working for a nonprofit and doing design work part-time, as a hobby. Not too long after, she transitioned into her own business when the hobby turned into a full time profession. Holding a Certification in Staging from Harper College, Lauren has been helping people stage and sell their homes since 2007. Her sense of style is described as “lived-in sophistication”, favoring clean lines and functionality under the philosophy of “less is more”. Lauren has experience in residential and commercial design, with an added certification in home organization. She is also a licensed real estate agent under Sisters Realty.
Rod Perrine
Master Carpenter & Owner
As a Master Carpenter, Rod has over 27 years in the construction and custom home build business. Rod has a working reputation for his commitment to quality, a work ethic that has earned him several job promotions. Prior to starting RDP Builders, the precursor to Boxwood, he was a foreman for one of the largest residential construction companies in greater Chicago. Rod takes pride and pleasure in partnering with his clients to achieve their dream homes. Today, Rod’s commitment to quality extends to ensuring that other traders he works with meet his, and his clients’ expectations.
