Our Story

Our venture came about from a bold leap taken by owner Rod Perrine in 2010. With construction in Northern Illinois grinding to a halt, Rod chose to take a leap of faith and started RDP Builders, preferring it over the unpredictability of employment. Our beginnings were humble, taking on smaller scale projects. Hard work, skills, and belief in our talent, slowly began to pay off.

In 2016, Boxwood Home Design & Kitchen Cabinetry was the next logical step. In an effort to control the details that make up the larger project, Boxwood was born, and we opened a showroom in West Dundee, IL. Catering to varying home renovation budgets, we offered quality cabinet lines and interior design services, eventually laying the groundwork for our Boxwood retail storefront.

Together, Boxwood Home Design & Cabinetry and RDP Builders combines design and re-design to bring your dream house to life. Our success is not only fueled by our skills but also the trust we have built with our clients over the years and our continued belief in each other.

Boxwood Home Design & Cabinetry

Lauren has been a designer most of her life, beginning her professional career working for a non-profit and doing design work part-time as a hobby. The hobby soon developed into a rewarding full-time career, prompting her to launch her own business. With a Certification in Staging from Harper College, Lauren has been helping people stage and sell their homes since 2007. Her sense of style is described as “lived-in sophistication”, favoring clean lines and functionality under the philosophy of “less is more”. Lauren has experience in residential and commercial design, with an added certification in home organization. She is also a licensed real estate agent under Sisters Realty, adding another dimension to her capabilities.

RDP Builders

As a Master Carpenter, Rod has over 30 years in the construction and custom home building industry. Known for his commitment to quality, his work ethic has seen him rise through the ranks, earning numerous promotions along the way. Prior to starting RDP Builders, which would later evolve into Boxwood, Rod held a foreman position in one of Chicagoland’s largest residential construction companies. Rod takes pride and pleasure in partnering with his clients to create their dream homes. Rod persistently upholds high standards ,ensuring that all contractors he engages match his expectations and those of his clients.
